Westown Farmers Market

I have guests visiting me this summer and I wanted to show off our city. This is peak season for vendors at most Wisconsin Farmers Markets, so we went to one of the city's favorites, Westown Farmers Market, last week to check it out. This market happens every Wednesday from June through October. Show up between 10 and 3 for a wide selection of lunch foods and grab what you might need for your weekly dinners too.

There are plenty of markets to choose from, and this one mainly caters to the downtown office crowd.  Located in the heart of the city at Zeidler Union Square, You'll find 60 vendors with fresh produce, food trucks, restaurants selling their foods, and the most beautiful flowers that will likely grace your office or home.  The high point for me though is always seeing the Kettle Korn cowboy in action. He cooks up that popcorn and rings the triangle bell to announce that the corn is freshly popped.  For $6 per bag, I think it's a bargain.
Not only are there plenty of vendors.  You will find live music there.  Look here for the full schedule of musicians. There were picnic tables, so we found one near the music and settled in to eat our falafel sandwiches, purchased from the Falafel Guy.  They were delicious!  Get out and see for yourself before summer is over!
